Derived from the Latin word "alternus," the word alternative carries the meaning of "other, different." Creating alternatives is indispensable for the problems and solutions we encounter in our lives. Especially when you find yourself caught in a dilemma, your brain will push you for an alternative solution. At least those whose brains work this way emerge as the ones making a difference in our lives...
It can be acceptable that the solution to some problems in the world is not easy. However, because it is a complex problem, it is not acceptable to stop without creating and solving alternatives. People, especially when stuck in a dilemma, tend to avoid the problem or choose to ignore it as a reflex. However, this situation can make the problem more troublesome and turn around to affect us more in our lives. Since our learned element, knowledge, and experience are reflected in our reflex, it generally guides us to interpret things based on our past gained capacity. However, creativity and modernization always develop with a forward-looking search for alternatives.
There is no need to be a genius to think alternatively and be a little creative. Changing our cultural and philosophical perspective and adopting this mindset would be a good start. If we can do this for simple problems, why don't we do it for problems that affect societies and even countries? When your car breaks down, you immediately think of at least 3 alternative solutions: take a taxi, use public transportation, or get a ride from someone else. However, it's strange not to be able to think of a single alternative solution for bigger problems or government affairs that affect the quality of life...
Of course, in the process of creating alternatives, we should not resort to solutions that would harm others, the environment, or life, because this would not solve the problem but exacerbate it. Since a world that is much faster at solving problems, more creative, efficient, and innovative with the knowledge and technology of the 21st century is everyone's hope, let's not hesitate to create alternatives.
