The dilemma between the desire for a proper societal order and the extreme individualism brought by the liberalism we experience today is a subtle conflict! Libertarian policies, developments over centuries, have evolved, contributing to many relaxations and advancements in both social and economic fields. Naturally, an individual is a being who wants to create and protect their comfort zone. Having a certain freedom space, where one can make their own decisions, take initiatives, determine their private lifestyle, and plan for the future, is both necessary and motivating. However, the circle that an individual opens around themselves at some point may intersect with the circle of another individual, and, in fact, the circles of many people may overlap in many places. This is where the dilemma arises. Either the individual will continue to expand their space as they wish, and the intersections will not be cared about, or this unlimited expansion will be limited at some point, but unfortunately, this limit is not a clearly visible line...
Due to all these factors, minds are becoming even more confused. Ideologies cannot respond to new conditions, political leaderships show indecision within the dilemma, priorities vary from person to person, and an ethical problem can arise in the world. Therefore, a question comes to mind:
The freedom of the individual is inevitable, but how much can this space of freedoms expand? Will narrowing these spaces to ensure the harmony of all individuals not limit the well-being of the individual?
Even as I write, I struggle because the subject is very challenging... As evolving beings managing change, we are trying to build or renovate on the accumulation of the past and often faltering. My opinion is that excessive individualism may feel good to us like a boomerang going to a certain extent, but beyond our control, the boomerang can come back and hit us. Therefore, we should increase our awareness and think more comprehensively. In the transient world, our only legacy will be what we can give to people, and what we receive will be what we gave in the last breath. So, do not remain in individual blindness; stay awake!
