Strategos

The word "strategy" comes from the Greek word "strategos," which originally referred to the art of a general, but what is strategy? It has shifted from the meaning of army commander to the art of a general. Strategy is a series of decisions that collectively define the direction of the organization in the future.

When someone says, "Our strategy is this," you can say no, that's not your strategy; it's your tactic, action, goal, or policy. In this case, confusion only increases. It is important to communicate depending on the planning capacity of the other party.

Today, strategy can be summarized as a series of decisions, approaches, and behaviors that define what needs to be done to achieve the desired vision within a certain policy framework. Strategic approaches are useful precisely at this stage. However, to implement these strategies, it is necessary to measure the results they will produce, set goals, and then plan and implement actions and resources to achieve these goals.

If the lion's policy is to remain the king of the forest, and its vision is to enjoy the forest with a full stomach, its adopted strategies would be not to stay thirsty and to hunt with minimal energy. Within this strategic framework, it sets goals to determine the locations of prey and water sources and takes action, engages in activities. The success of such a strategic plan is ultimately related to how much the lion has achieved its vision at the end of the day.

With this logic, states, institutions, and even individuals inevitably create their strategies based on various factors. This compulsion is triggered by a kind of instinct to survive in nature and can be shaped even more by desires. Those who make a difference in their vision and strategies stand out, while those who are inadequate fall behind. The key is to put what should be "how it can be" rather than saying "I did it" or "nothing will happen" without forgetting your strategy in planning and implementation.

Have a vision without forgetting your strategy in planning and implementation, and cultivate individuals like this. The future of societies depends on young people who have gained the ability to have a vision and develop a strategy.
