There is a significant difference between doing something and just thinking about doing it. Some may feel like they've done something when they think about doing it. They may even behave as if they've already started doing it. However, with the mind game, this thought has no actual impact in real life.
Thinking about doing something is undoubtedly necessary; it is indispensable for design and thinking in terms of planning, evaluation, strategy, and goal-setting.
However, these are not enough for our lives; the meaning becomes apparent, and practical results are obtained when you actually do what you think about doing. The old saying "pounding water in a mortar" was used in this sense.
Factors that prevent a person from taking action can come to the forefront at this stage. When you get stuck at critical control points such as resource shortage, psychological factors, or timing, you cannot perform the action of doing. Another aspect is the risk factor. If you cannot take a certain amount of risk, you will remain in thought and cannot take action. On the other hand, you can try to reassure yourself with the suggestion of "I tried to do it."
Another factor may be avoiding criticism. In other words, not being able to tolerate criticism can sometimes cause you to leave a subject unfinished, even if you have thought about doing it.
What did Atatürk think about doing? What did Lokman the physician plan and achieve? In today's era, for the smallest issue, we think and hesitate so much, as if we are stuck in our own league. However, being aware of how advanced we are in terms of possibilities and capabilities, we should be able to act more boldly.
Think about doing good and useful things, plan, and take action. Remember that there is always a risk in every moment of life, and no matter how beautiful things you do, there will always be criticism. As individuals and societies, we are part of a dynamic life, and we cannot afford the luxury of living without doing something in this flow! Do something, even if it's small, to overcome yourself and capture that feeling.
