We Should Not Forget Ethics!

In our world, which experiences technical expertise, economic activities, legislation, and technology-oriented development, the subject of Ethics is a crucial issue often mentioned in theory but not given much practical importance. The concept of Ethics is generally derived from philosophy as a branch of moral right and wrong. It exists both in behavior and in the actions we take.

Not every issue we think is legal or justified may be ethical. Because laws are made by people and are a system that needs improvement. What is essential is to consider whether the ethical dimension of something we will do is appropriate before the laws. In the UK, every law graduate cannot automatically start their duties; they are subjected to a very difficult ethical exam beforehand. Similarly, ethical leaders prefer to act objectively and comprehensively, considering every affected party in every step they take. Due to this need, various professional associations publish Ethical Business Rules for their members in various professional fields.

Unfortunately, in our region, the subject of ethics, which has not shown much progress, is generally tried to be instilled through religious teachings as morality. In fact, if done correctly and meaningfully, there would be no problem. Thus, living as an individual with general ethical and moral values throughout one's life would be positive for the overall societal balance. Therefore, incorporating the subject of ethics into the education processes of children, ensuring that they internalize it during their developmental period, and guiding them to act with ethics in their personal and professional lives can be achieved. This would reduce the chances of lawsuits, conflicts, tensions, and disputes, allowing society to continue to develop in a more relaxed and contemporary environment. Start instilling ethical awareness in your children from home!
